Celebrating Twos Day on 2-22-22 | Middle School and Elementary School Activities

Are you excited for Twos Day on February 22, 2022? I'm looking forward to throwing a class party on this once-in-a-lifetime date. My students will decorate art projects, create two-themed stories, and more! 

This unique calendar day is cause for celebration, and I'm excited to share my favorite Twos Day resources with you. 

Elementary School
2s Day Doodle Art Project - This art activity encourages students to add colors, shapes, and patterns to a box full of 2s to create a distinctive illustration. 
"Happy Twos Day" paper crown template - Students can color in the design that includes stars, the number 2, and a "Happy Twos Day" message.
Roll-a-story Narrative Writing Project - Students will roll a die to get their story started. This activity contains prompts for the following categories: character, time, place, and problem. 
2 Favorite Things Art and Writing Project - Celebrate Twos Day by having your students draw two of their favorite things in a variety of categories. Then, your students will write which of the two items in each group is their favorite and why.
Pairs word search puzzle - Celebrate Twos Day on February 22, 2022 with this fun pairs word search. Students will look for terms that are hidden horizontally, diagonally, and vertically throughout the puzzle.

Middle School 

Homophone review worksheet (to, too, two) - This activity will help your students review three of the most common homophones in the English language: two, too, and to. 
Two-themed figures of speech worksheet - 
Celebrate Twos Day on February 22, 2022 by having your students analyzes two-themed figures of speech such as "If you chase two rabbits, you will not catch either one." Your students will have fun reading 13 figures of speech and writing inferences about their meaning. 
Comic art and writing activity - Celebrate Twos Day on February 22, 2022 by having your students write and illustrate a funny comic.

Other Fun Ideas
  • Encourage students to wear tutus (2-2s) to school. 
  • Give students permission to work with partners all day. 
  • Play music and dance at 2:22 p.m. on 2/22/22. 
  • Have students count how many exercise moves (jumping jacks, etc.) they can do in two minutes. 
  • Have a costume contest in which students have to dress up as things that come in pairs, such as peanut butter and jelly. 
  • Read the book Tuesday by David Wiesner. 
  • Eat snacks that come in groups of two.
